1 Killed When Speeding BMW Slams Into Semi Truck: CHP
The driver behind the wheel of a black BMW was likely speeding on Interstate 8 when she slammed into the back of a semi-truck, killing her, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials said.
The crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. on I-8 near Tavern Road in Alpine, east of San Diego.
The driver, in her 30s, was reportedly going about 90 miles per hour east on the freeway when she tried to pass a semi truck, CHP officers said. She did not slow down enough, officers said, and crashed into the back of a semi truck.
The impact of the crash sent her car off the road and into a nearby bush.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
